I've had major struggles with beauty in my life. There have been times when I wanted to hide my beauty to avoid male attention. But anyway, it's hard for me to know that God has made me (and everyone) beautiful, and to say, "Yes! I am beautiful. God has made me this way, just as he's placed beauty in all creation. I don't have to be ashamed of it, and I shouldn't try to hide it. I also shouldn't stress over shining for him, because that will happen as an outgrowth of walking by faith." As I grew up, my parents sweetly told me that I was beautiful. Sometimes other people will say it too, and when they do, I feel like I need to push their compliments away, like it's a temptation to be vain.
